Geographic Zone Tiers in Indian Apparel Shipping
In Indian logistics contracts, freight pricing is categorized into distinct geographic transit zones:
• Zone A (Intra-City): Shipments within the same metropolitan city (e.g. Tirupur to Coimbatore). Fastest transit, lowest cost.
• Zone B (Intra-State / Regional): Shipments within the same state border (e.g. Tamil Nadu or Karnataka).
• Zone C (Metro-to-Metro): Fast air and express surface corridors connecting major commercial hubs (Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad).
• Zone D (Rest of India): Tier-2 and Tier-3 towns with established district sorting centers.
• Zone E (Special / Remote / ODA): Jammu & Kashmir, Northeast states, Andaman & Nicobar, and remote hill stations requiring dedicated air cargo or specialized hill freight.
